RC Speedway Hoodie

I set out to design what felt like the perfect hoodie—something that could stand on its own as a staple piece but still push proportion and detail. The RC Speedway Hoodie is cut from 400GSM 100% cotton French terry with a super oversized, boxy silhouette achieved through extended side panels and a slight crop. The oversized hood and properly scaled kangaroo pocket reinforce the shape and keep it functional. It’s garment dyed and vintage washed, which enhances the fabric’s dry, textured surface and gives the whole thing a lived-in edge.

Concept
Visually, the graphic layout is inspired by motorsport sponsor jackets—stacked and aggressive, but reinterpreted through the lens of soft chaos, addiction iconography, and anime subculture. Every patch and embroidery was developed in-house, with emphasis on balanced asymmetry.

The hood is oversized and the neckline is adjusted for ease—avoiding the common issue where heavyweight fleece restricts entry. All graphics are either direct embroidery or satin-stitched patches. The kangaroo pocket is scaled up to match the body. Garment is pigment dyed and washed for depth of color and hand feel.

This hoodie was built from the ground up to solve problems I’ve run into with other oversized pieces—tight necklines, small kangaroo pockets, silhouettes that collapse under their own weight. It became a reference point for future cut and sew projects and helped refine how I work across embroidery, patch design, and post-wash finish planning.
